In accordance with United States tax laws, WebMD is required to send Tax Form 1099 to anyone who has claimed (not earned) $600 or more in rewards each calendar year. Claimed means you clicked ‘Claim’ in the Rewards section of the Survey Portal and received an Amazon.com gift code*.
We will direct you to submit and complete a W-9 form as soon as you attempt to claim a reward that will bring your total claimed rewards for that year to $600 or more. Once you complete the tax form, you will be allowed to claim your reward.
Below are some scenarios to help explain when you may or may not be requested to fill out a tax form.
- You previously claimed $550 and are about to claim another $50. You will be required to complete a tax form before you can claim the additional $50 Amazon.com gift card*.
- You previously claimed $400 and are about to claim $50. You will not be required to complete a tax form.
- You previously claimed $580 and are about to claim $25. You will be required to complete a tax form before you can claim the additional $50 Amazon.com gift card*. will be required
If you did not claim $600 or more within a calendar year, you will NOT receive a 1099 and therefore would not need to claim WebMD issued gift cards on your taxes.
