As of January 1st 2026, the IRS has changed the threshold for needing a tax form from $600 to $2000.
In accordance with United States tax laws, WebMD is required to send Tax Form 1099 to anyone who has claimed gift cards of $2000 or more in rewards each calendar year. Claimed means you clicked ‘Claim’ in the Rewards section of the Survey Portal and received an Amazon.com gift code*.
We will direct you to submit and complete a W-9 form your total claimed rewards for that year will be $2000 or more. Once you complete the tax form, you will be allowed to finish claiming your reward.
If you did not claim $2000 or more within a calendar year, you will NOT receive a 1099 and therefore would not need to claim WebMD issued gift cards on your taxes.
If you have any questions regarding the total rewards you have earned this calendar year, you can check the rewards page in your survey portal. Any questions not answered above, please contact our customer support team by clicking here.
*Restrictions apply, see amazon.com/gc-legal
